My Story: Pencils Down, Mask Off

Redefining Life After the Working World

I was 60 when I was clinically diagnosed with autism. To be candid, I didn't pay much attention to this because I had already spent most of my life feeling different but no really understanding why. At the time of this diagnosis, autism felt like "just one more thing" that I could lump in with growing back problems  and  increasingly creaky knees.

Now, in the quiet grace of retirement, I am rediscovering my authentic  self that has long been hidden  away, subconsciously suppressed so as to better fit in with what used to be my school community.

Here in this blog, I share the lessons I have learned from my experience of having been someone who was diagnosed with autism rather late in life.
